Reply #13: I get along better with my in-laws than my family!

My mother and sister-in-law are over our place at least once a week to spend time with our 1 year old son. We couldn't have made it this past year without their help - our little boy is wonderful but is really high up on the 'neediness' scale.

In fact, I get along much better with them than with my family, who have cut me off and blame me for, quote, "destroying the family". Why? Because last year I refused to let my narcissist mother to stomp all over us any more, causing a long LONG series of rages and fights between her and I, ending with my cutting her off to protect my wife and child. This, apparently, is all my fault. <sigh> Anyone have experience with narcissistic rage? You know what I'm talking about!
