You're right, there is hope still. Even the Republicans have to give lip service to equality in order to win, even towards their gay/lesbian boogeymen. Equality is what people want, they just don't understand what it really means. That's my real hope as my group becomes a numerical and increasingly a cultural minority (not there yet, but it looks inevitable). Perhaps that will create an understanding. That hope balances my fear that we are moving towards an Imperial phase of history specifically so the Republicans can maintain white male minority rule. They are intent on destroying elections altogether, and so far the American people aren't stopping them.

Getting a ways from the original topic, aren't I?
