44. I introduce myself to new people in the neighborhood.
And then after they've settled into their home and I get an idea of what they like, I bring them a "welcome to the neighborhood" gift. I also let them know that any time they need any kind of help, not to hesitate to ask.

Another thing, I never address someone of my parents' generation by their first name until they tell me they prefer to be addressed by their first name. Until then it's Mr. or Ms. or Mrs. (My parents were really strict about this rule and now I'm stuck with it.)
