3. no kids, don't plan on them, either...
just interesting history, homes, individuality, some culture/support of arts, books... I'm so SICK of WalMart generic communities, endless strip malls -- while I know all suburbs are 'infected' and the convenience is nice, I'd like the town itself to have a real downtown heart.

I'd like reasonable proximity to a good airport (1-2 hours away) - I'm guessing that'd be Memphis, and good medical care if we stay into our dotage.

I am no fan of college sports and I know "Ole Miss" is a big football school (right?) but if Ole Miss can also offer jobs, seminars/lectures, etc., I'd be very happy.
