Well, I've given the past two years of my life to national service.

I was an AmeriCorps worker. I've spent the past 2 years, 50 hours a week, working in a local public school tutoring and building community support for literacy. It's extraordinarily fulfilling work, but there's really no way to live on the stipend. $950 a month (before taxes) is just not enough to live on, especially in the areas where the need is the greatest.

I'm also vegan. That might not mean much to some, but to me, it means that I don't contribute to the insane factory-farmed food culture that has taken over his country. My husband gave up driving to work 4 months ago and bikes 25 miles round-trip daily. I ride the bus to work.

So, what do you want to know? We live with "liberal" life choices. I might not be able to show up at marches, but I make the best choices that I can.
