My doggie is being treated for DLE, an canine auto-immune disease

We took him Friday because he's been acting depressed and had been rubbing his nose raw and has new sores on all four elbows that I've been washing and treating with antiseptic. He hangs around w/the cat who's all upset with things being different in the house because we're moving, so thought he was just freakin' too or had developed an allergy. He did alright, to himself!!!

Now he's got three prescriptions and has to stay out of the sun because it makes the symptoms worse. It has an unknown etiology, possibly genetic trigger, he's always been troubled with the topical flea/tick controls, so this year in April we went the the all-in-one, once-a-month oral preventive, plus he needed his boosters. There's some sites out there that blame vaccines and flea/tick stuff for big challenges to their immune systems, sort of the equivalent of the human autistic thing and vaccines.

Guess DLE is chronic but can be controlled though. Hopefully, it will go into remission and I guess we'll take our chances until I can research a alternative natural means to cope w/the possible creeping, biting critters. Vet said the hairless scabby elbow sores were just due to thinning skin and a normal thing in older dogs, but I dunno  they look painful to me.
