8. I threw out the possibility of playing an April Fool's prank on GD.
My original suggestion was to post something regarding the Giant Cock of Barberville. But a few of the DU Lounge fellas suggested having someone post some sad news and then have others uncharacteritically bash them in the replies in classic oversensitive GD flame war style. Without naming names--Mr. Scorpio--someone suggested having someone say their dog died and post a free domain clip art photo of a very adorable golden retriever.

It gets done, and me putting myself into the shoes of an overly offended and angry at the world GDer, I reply by stating it serves him right for getting a purebred dog (remember the Obama dog outrage)? I then parlay that into a second thread where I posted a Wikipedia page on the issues that arise in dog breeding, and I said something to the effect of purebred dogs having no soul.

Which, I cannot stress enough, I honestly do not believe. I owned and loved a purebred golden retriever for six great years of my young life and she was truly the best dog I ever owned or knew.

But alas, people are sensitive to the ludicrious suggestion that purebred dogs have no soul, and as such, before I apologized and even after I apologized, I quickly became target number one of GD's hate.

Of course, I'm of the opinion that it doesn't take much to become target number one of GD's hate.

But just let it be known. I do not think purebred dogs have no soul.
