at their own game.
That game is the whole problem with capitalism and the reliance on the mind as the only aspect of our being in this idea of existence. Well, in the sense that the game is taken to be serious and acted upon as much more than a game.
There is no enemy, in that sense. There is only that which presents itself as an opponent. Those fiercely invested in a battle will vehemently disagree. The obvious investment assures that no other perspective is valid or acceptable for too much has been assumed to be at stake for any other way to be considered at that stage.
To understand the difference between an enemy and a worthy opponent is one degree or step towards another concept that is largely unpopular in a culture based and reliant upon competition between its various members as a matter of fact. In that kind of perspective, human nature is considered to be a matter of oneupmanship and cooperation is merely incidental to the dominant paradigm where we see an embodiment of something like Social Darwinism taught from grade school on, yet it is subtly denied via the rhetorical goodness factored merely implied by religious and ethical lip service that rarely sees any large-scale social implementation.
As long as we are drawn to the good guys versus bad guys game that is meticulously designed and laid out before us in various ways by the culture itself we will never be able to emancipate ourselves or assist in the emancipation of others who recognize a need to find freedom from a compelling and pervasive game that is conceived and played by masters who are well aware of the rules and techniques that lie beyond what we are taught and exposed to in a general way.
One could only begin by noting that the freedom from the game includes all aspects of the game itself and potentially contains what might seem to be counter-intuitive and even unreasonable, but not totally or in a destructive way. Discernment is an issue here, and that is what brains and minds are for, are they not? Passivity is for trees, perhaps? You might not even be able to imagine yet just how much you can question, in that case. Of course, that is where one might hide the most important resolutions to the problems at hand. What is considered near and dear can also be what has been utilized with great care and craft to bind one to the master's yoke.
