Pennsylvania considers statewide `firearm-free' zones

PHILADELPHIA - (KRT) - The slaying of a 10-year-old boy in North Philadelphia has driven several Philadelphia lawmakers to propose legislation creating "firearm-free" zones at schools and recreation areas throughout the state.

If passed, the zones would ban firearms within 1,000 feet of every public, private and parochial school and higher-learning institution, and within 500 feet of every playground, recreation facility and school-transportation vehicle.

It is always refreshing to wake up in the morning and read about our not an ounce of common sense politicians in action. I'm sure the gang bangers will obey these gun free zones. And I guess that every one that owns a house and a gun within the school zones, playgrounds and bus routes will either have to sell their house or their gun.
