into gun politics. And he certainly isn't stupid.
You have a point about MSM. It remains the strongest (and I would argue the ONLY) effective element in the gun-control "movement," and I am sure it had hopes Obama would continue the battle for bans, right up to the time the helicopters left the rooftop. He didn't, but the rattling hopes of the press made him seem an activist on the subject. Hint to MSM: Obama is not much of an activist.
