Ms. Thom had these arguments:
- registration of all firearms is the beginning of a police state.
- this is going to be private property they are trying to confiscate.
- who is going to make the determination of value?
- at present people are not complying with the registration process.
- better results would be seen by redirecting funding towards curbing violence instead of confiscating firearms.

Our firearms laws, btw, have all kinds of exemptions for competitive shooters, who are allowed to own otherwise banned weapons that are standard for competitive shooting, etc.
