47. Affordability!?!...
Feh!... Just ask our AG about that. I have an S&W Model 41 (which I consider an intermediate target pistol, but at about $750 used],
it's not the sort of investment one could (or would), splurge on their kid just getting interested in shooting sports. The only other alternative is the S&W Model 22. Affordable, but not the first choice when a better alternative like the Ruger MK-II should be available.

It wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't some degree of racism coming from the MA AG's office or the state legislature. There's probably a number of inner city kids who would excel or could benefit from a proper firearms training, education safety and marksmanship program, but can't afford the cost.
