I was not saying or implying you didn't read the article. However, you are just naive or not paying attention. I, too, thought it was about Joe, but I read the inserted paragraphs on the OP and saw that it was NOT about Joe. But, some people here hate Lieberman and Israel that they have an almost Pavlovian response to either words. They don't read anything other than those two words (there are a few other words that have the same response). Don't think it is hate? Do a poll in the GD: Politics room: "Do you hate Joe Lieberman?" Don't want to do that? Just search "Lieberman" and see how many people say they hate him, not that they hate his policies.

You ask why the OP failed to anticipate the reaction. That statement would indicate that you are acknowledging that some simply see "Lieberman" and react. So, the bigger problem is not that the OP should have been clearer in the title (LBN rules say you must use the original title); no, the bigger problem is that people do not read the attached article, and in some cases, as shown in this thread, they don't even bother reading past the title, because it was very clear it was not about Joe Lieberman.

It just shows that some people really should read what they are commenting on it before actually posting.
