After all, in his 2 terms, he has handed them seats on the national and state levels to an unprecedented degree. Hell, they ought to give him a medal!

I mean, it takes real talent to outraise your opposition and then squander those funds on a losing effort that ultimately removes your party from national power in both branches. And that on top of having lost seats nationally and in the states in every single previous election of your terms. Guess he wanted to go out with a bang.
