My rant of personal experience with Repubs and a call to action!

I am not one for profanity in nearly every case, but I will be using some choice words in this post. So, here goes.

I have voted a straight Dem ticket with the exception of 1972, my first opportunity to vote in a Presidential election, and despite my fathers urging and lecturing on the evils of Republicans I voted for Richard Nixon. My vote was more of a rebellious vote towards my father but in a short two years I realized just how badly I had fucked up. Everything my father had told me was right on the money.

Ever since then, I have proudly voted a straight Dem ticket in every single election and will continue to do so. I know first hand of just how screwed up Republicans are as they try to govern. From my own perspective I have never ever seen a Republican President do a damn thing for the working man/woman as well as the poor and people of color.

The only damn times I have ever been out of a job has occurred while a Republican has been President. I worked hard and earned a nice wage to provide for my family while working in a foundry when Jimmy Carter served. And then came that worthless piece of "there you go again" shit AKA Ronald Reagan. When that bastard fired every single air traffic controller that was out on strike, every union in this nation SHOULD have walked out until that prick brought those people back to their jobs. But of course all I heard from my fellow steel workers was, "That's them not us." Despite my protest that eventually Reagan would come after us as well, no one understood. But they soon would.

You see, Reagan became the great union buster and of course the steel industry was on his hit list. That pathetic piece of shit led the way to a lockout by our employer who attempted to bring in scabs to do our jobs. During contract negotiations, we knew the company would ask for a wage cut and having seen two other steel companies in our community, we were willing to take up to a two dollar an hour cut. But, following Reagan's cue, the company brought in a head hunter to serve as plant manager and his demand was a straight fifty percent cut in wages AND benefits across the board. To those who are not aware, foundry work is extremely dangerous. I personally witnessed several devastating injuries to numerous co-workers. As a result, there was no way we were going to work for a paltry six dollars an hour. Not long after that we were told that it was cheaper to purchase the rolled steel castings from Brazil and ship them to the US then to pay our wages and benefits.

After being out of work for nearly three years, I did manage to find a job in a bag plant and due to the low wage paid, the only way to make enough to provide for my family was to work twelve hour shifts every day, six days a week. Thank you Saint Ronnie for really fucking with the American dream but this is the guy they want to place on Mount Rushmore? On the dime? Fuck em all I say!

Then came *41, he of the tempest of the Iran-Contra scandal, the S&L scandal, Desert Storm and weak economy. Soon, I was out of work again. I'd work perhaps a month and then be laid off for a month; This shit continued for nearly a year before I had enough. Fortunately my father worked at our local newspaper and told me of a job opening there. The wage was low but at least the work was steady serving as a District Sales Manager in the circulation department. It is etched into my brain the pictures and news footage of *41 purchasing a pair of socks at a mall as a sign that the economy was improving. Made me want to hurl!

Thank God Bill Clinton fought the * regime and won in '92 and it was indeed "happy days are here again". Due to Clinton's policies, My family and I flourished throughout the entire eight years of his presidency as we prepared to work hard to ensure that Al Gore would become the next President to continue the economic surge we Americans ALL enjoyed. But of course, the "liberal media" began their personal crusade against Gore while gushing praise at the Texas Governor, the Texicutioner, the miserable historical record in both *'s personal and public life. In effect, the media turned this nation upside down and far too many idiots bought the bullshit the media was pushing. We all know what happened next as an election we had won handedly was stolen right from under our noses and the highest court in the land upheld the theft of democracy choosing to install * as our forty third president.

Soon after, I was out of work again and have been so throughout his term. But thank God for BVR who is aiding me in finishing my college education in order to reenter the work force. I do not thank * for that program as he has pushed so many people throughout Ohio onto the unemployment lists. Why this dumber than hell state supported the dip shit in '04 is beyond me. * lied to make war with Iraq over and over again and the media for the most part, glosses over those pesky facts. This is a man that chose to stay on vacation rather than getting his ass back to Washington and deal with the ominous PDB of August 6, '01 leading to the attacks of 9/11.

As if the events of that tragic day weren't enough, the horrors to follow lumped insult onto injury. *, the political opportunistic bitch that he is used that tragedy to for political and personal gain. His corrupt prick of a VP has is no better, in fact IMO he is far worse. I had absolutely no problem with going after Osama; I wanted that man dead as much as any other American but of course in six months Bin Laden went from being "wanted dead or alive" to "he's irrelevant". Where was the outrage? Where was the media? Where were our Democratic leaders to challenge such bullshit?

I dint give a rats ass if we are the minority in the House and Senate, we can still make noise and lot's of it. Newt Gingrich shut this nation down for far less for God's sake! Nearly fourteen hundred brave American troops are dead thanks to lies, deception and spin and not one word of protest ever seems to make a dent in the armor of this chicken shit administration. These people have turned the American dream into a world wide nightmare as scandal after scandal has ensued and gone under reported or not even mentioned!!

And now we have four more years to deal with this dick head, this scourge to our freedoms, this pathetic, arrogant ignoramus who believes his actions are guided by the Almighty. If you or I were to parade around the towns we live in and said our actions were led by God, the authorities would quickly find us and take us to the nearest loony bin. Why does that not apply to *? We have seen how far into the depths of depravity this nation has fallen over the last four years; I shudder to think where we will be in another four years.

We as Americans and Democrats must urge and demand that our leadership in the House and Senate stand up and demand accountability from this group of constitutional hijackers. Do not make the mistake that democracy is dead; It is simply on hiatus. It's time for all of us to dig deep from within and if our leaders choose not to lead, we must take up the mantle and deal with the challenge of exposing these outrageous chicken hawks and their perpetual war mongering ourselves.

I am ready to fight these bastards and I most certainly hope I am not alone. Protests are fine, but our protests must be loud, forceful and concise. We must take to the streets with transgressions reaped at the hands of those seeking to suppress our rights. We must demand a complacent media to hear us by any means possible, but peacefully. The Reverend Martin Luther King proved it can be done, so let's roll up our sleeves and get to the business at hand!!
