made a very impressive presentation. I only caught about 10 minutes from the middle of it, but she was laying out a detailed exposition of Rice's contradictions and errors with regards to the invasion of Iraq. The type of work she was doing today is what I think our opposition should look like for the next few years. She was calm and respectful. (She even gave props to Sen. Lugar for his job of overseeing the committee hearing.) She went out her way to say that it's not her habit to try and block nominations, but that this was a special case. Her critiques weren't ideologically driven, so she was speaking for the whole party, not just its left-wing. Yet she was persistant and forceful in her demands for accountability from the executive branch.
Tactically it was a smart move. Obviously Rice is getting the nomination, and I personally don't give a rat's ass who votes YES or NO. Nevertheless, it's good to exploit every opportunity we can to rub the Bush Administration's nose in it's own poo.
