8. How can we fight back if some of us don't believe that the machines
were toyed with? I end up fighting with fellow DU who believe the machines were messed with.

Can't we agree to agree that there were irregularities and that there have always been games played and that we have to clean the thing up and state by state fight the fight?

Because we always get stuck on diebold. It separates us. Of course they are going to put those machines everywhere. They want the Dem party to be split. They separate us from our posse and then they'll get their 'tightly tied bundle of sticks'(where the word fascism comes from) who are 1) patriots the patsies 2) religious 3) racist 4) the worst of the corporates 4) the elites ("I call you my base" said W)corporate to all hand together during the 2006 elections.

How can we get together and agree that election reform and paper trails have to happen without starting to fight over diebold (the easy way out - the repukes have been stalking the liberal Americans for 30 years - so not believing in diebold when there is no proof is a bigger problem). I hope that DSM is the item broken hearted and shocked DUers can sink there teeth into - because there is lots of proof the neocons had perpetual and aggressive was on their agenda. And perhaps some healing will take place. So American will be ready to fight the tougher battle (GOP & neocon manipulation of the truth & tribalization of the US populace into groups that suit their electoral needs).

Sorry.

My heart falls every time I see another country buy the diebold. It is the gift that keeps on giving to the sociopaths in Washington. They just give a little bit of different fear to one group, another kind of fear to another group, more fear of a third kind for group number three, and on and on. And Americans end up following that thread of fear where it leads them. Which is not to their big tent if they are democrats. And to the 'new' big tent if they are repuke voters.

That is the problem. Will Americans become sophisticated enough to see the underlying patter of "different fears" activated for "different populations": dividing or coalescing American groups depending on the recipe Karl Rove needs to win the next election.

Or will we follow our worst fears and be separated from each other.

I expect diebold to be the thing the GOP harps on and bring to the forefront the most often in this next year. It pays off for them in division among democrats every time.

It takes a long time to become more discerning and less likely to wear your heart on your sleeve. Will we make it to 2006 together? Or will we be separated by the problems the White House intentionally doesn't solve?
