34. A federal judge can seal the report of the Grand Jury
It happened in the Rocky Flats Case, the Grand Jury handed down an indictment report and it got locked up tighter than the lid on a pickle jar. They can decide whatever they want but it doesn't mean that information will ever get out. If a deal was made to let Rove off the hook in exchange for a decent SCOTUS, a judge could seal the report and tuck it away for 3 years or more. The Democrats would agree not to make a stink about it and the deals done. The Grand Jury is a tool of the court, not the other way around as it should be. They control who sits on the Grand Jury and I bet the Jurors aren't always up to speed on Federal Law or feel confident in exercising thier power. There's been very few runaway juries so it's unlikely they'll understand that they are in control. If the Congress allows it to go away, it goes away.
