Revolution in congress: Rep. Smith 'most troops want to come home'

This rep from Washington voted for the war because he trusted Bush, now says he wishes he could change his vote. He just got back from Iraq and says the troops want out...
"While morale is good, most troops now say they want to come home, Smith said - a sharp contrast to his last Iraq visit in June 2004.

"They believe in what they are doing and what they have done, and believe they have made a difference, in terms of security and a civil society," Smith said. "But the second part of that is they are ready to go home."

also interesting..."Rep. Norm Dicks, D-Wash., who also voted in favor of the war, said he now believes the war was a mistake.
A longtime defense hawk, Dicks said last week he believes the prewar intelligence was "doctored" and that the White House did not prepare for or deploy enough troops for the insurgency that’s unfolded. He said he would "absolutely not" have voted for the war if he knew there were no stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction, as the administration claimed.

Smith, who returned Thursday from a five-day trip to Iraq and three other countries, said Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and other officials should be held accountable for overstating the case for war and the presence of catastrophic weapons."

There is a revolution in congress! We are winning. WE ARE WINNING!

Congressman Kucinich has called for a hearing on Iraq and specifically Cheney( Congressman Dennis J. Kucinich sent the following letter to Tom Davis, Chairman of the House Government Reform Committee http://www.commondreams.org/news2005/1121-05.htm)
"The Vice President has had great influence in leading the United States into war in Iraq, and has used his influence to make false statements, mislead the public and attack those who oppose the war and have demanded accountability.

The Vice President should be immediately invited to appear before our committee and given the opportunity to provide our committee with the facts to support his claims. If he refuses, our committee should use its subpoena power to require his appearance."

The American people are ready, Congress is finally waking up...Does anyone know what we do to make this hearing happen??!! I think Dennis might have been against impeachment of Bush because we would only get to Cheney which is worse. But heck, let's impeach Cheney first. Any move toward impeachment and this administration is toast. I think they would resign before everyone figures out the extent of their madness.
