I know that DUers are the most informed, educated people on the planet. But, I read this quote (which I'm sure most of you have probably already seen) written 86 years ago by H.L. Mencken. First time I'd seen it, and it cracked me up. If you haven't seen it, it's worth a look---if you have, it's worth remembering again:

"As democracy is perfected, the office of the president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart`s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a down-right moron."
- H.L. Mencken (1920)

Another of Mencken's quotes:

"In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for. As for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican." -- H. L. Mencken

LOL :-D
