13. So true. Try "The Left Hand of God - Taking Back Our Country from the
Religious Right" - just out in Feb. The author (Michael Lerner) takes on the unholy alliance between the political right and the religious right and proposes an alternative, practical platform for the left to take back the dialogue about real morality. It's getting great reviews all around.

Plus there is a grassroots movement called the Network of Spiritual Progressives, using the blueprint laid out in Lerner's book as its platform. They are having a national Spiritual Activism Conference in DC in May, at which Cindy Sheehan and many other notables will be attending/speaking.

I just met the guy at a speaking engagement last week and have signed on to volunteer getting the movement noticed so we can change the dialogue about values. Welcoming any help I can get from fellow DUers!

Welcome to DU!
