An EAST TEXAS Democratic friend of mine found this article from North Dakota, and was so amused by the premise, that she sent this to me with HER thoughts after each statement.

Hope you enjoy!

THINK ABOUT THIS FOR A MOMENT

> This text is from a county emergency manager out in the western part of North Dakota state after the recent snow storm.

> Up here in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a Historic event--- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions"--- with a historic blizzard of up to 44 inches of snow and winds to 90 mph that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.

> FYI: See my comments in parenthesis.
>
> George Bush did not come. (You all voted him in and you had a pretty good idea he wouldn't go to your little country side.)
>
> FEMA did nothing (You didn't ask because you knew they wouldn't do anything .)
>
> No one howled for the government. (Your snow fall would quickly melt away, and you know it.)

> No one even blamed the government. (Nobody blamed the hurricanes on the government, either.)
>
> No one even uttered an expletive on TV. (You haven't gotten T.V. because there's no reception out there.)
>
> Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit. (They knew they'd get a pitch fork not a handshake there.)
>
> Our Mayor's did not blame Bush or anyone else. (No one blames a storm on a mayor. Blame the bad evacuation on the officials in charge.)
>
> Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either. (....because no one needed to evacuate.)
>
> CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this category 5 snow storm. (Again, no T.V. in Western North Dakota. If T.V. still showed "Leave It To Beaver", they'd really try to get T.V. receivers.)
>
> Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards. ( .....and nobody did either in the hurricanes , that was thought up by G. Bush's appointees)
>
> No one asked for a FEMA trailer house. (At least you country folk had the sense to know they'd sink in the snow)
>
> No one looted. (just too hard to run, run away fast.)
>
> Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something. (Cheney could hardly shovel out the snow.)
>
> Nobody expected the government to do anything, either. (You all ought to know the government wouldn't help, you saw the example set in the hurricanes. You all voted for those birds-of-a feather who care little in all kinds of weather.)
>
> No Larry King, No Bill O'Reilly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews and No Geraldo Rivera. (because they have much more interesting interviews.)
>
> No Sean Penn, No Barbra Streisand, No Hollywood types to be found. (Neither were they in New Orleans floatin' in a pierot for interviews.)
>

> AND
>
> Nope, we just melted the snow for water. (Yes, even idiots know how to do that.)
>
> Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow engulfed cars. (because G. Bush gave you a discount on SUV's and you bought lots of them!)
>
> The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't even ask for a penny. (because the farmer neighbors would have shot them come spring time if they had.)
>
> Local resteraunts made food, and the police and fire departments delivered it to the snow bound families. (Now, I wonder why they couldn't do that in New Orleans. Could it be the deliverers were dead or in the dome starving?)
>
> Families took in the stranded people - total strangers. (Oh yes, we did too- - - - it's just we were 500 miles from the storm because their storm was a real storm and yours was a melt-away storm.)
>
> We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns and Coleman lanterns. (There are no wood stoves in N.O. and the other stuff was floating in the black waters next to the corpses.)

> We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or Die". (In N.O. they lost all their clothes and many were dying because they couldn't find work.)
>
> We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for "sitting at home" checks. (Your messy-snowfall was from nature, not a welfare program. The New Orleans' sitting-at-home-checks were signed by G. Bush representative.)
>
> Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never fallen this early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves. (Did you have to deal with dead bodies lying around when the snow melted?)

> I hope this gets passed on....
>
> Maybe... SOME people will get this message...
>
> The world does NOT owe you a living. (What does that have to do with snow? You need to get out of your farmin' county and go south and learn.)
