This morning I was just watching the news headline clips some of the clips had Bush talking about the war in Iraq. One of the clips showed Bush angryily telling a crowd that "he could not look parents in the eyes" at that point he pointed to a Marine in the crowd and said "I could not send this Marine into war if I did not believe in the war." My first thought after I heard this comment I thought this was bullshit. Later, I thought if he cared so much about those parents and those Marines, Soldiers, Airmen, and Saliors why did he start a war and say it "feels good". Second, if he cared about the troops and their parents then why did he send them to war without body armor and armored vehicles. Finally, if he cared about the troops and their parents why did he wait until three years after the war started to get an at least half way compatent level of body armor and armored vehicles to the troops in Iraq. 30% percent of the troops surveyed said they felt they were not outfitted with proper body armor and armored vehicles.
