i see so many posts on DU calling for a liberal network or a liberal media. i think that's a mistake. in fact, i'm not sure what a liberal media would be? or a conservative media for that matter. but if there exists a notion of a "liberal" media, i think it would be as harmful as a "conservative" media.

what we want is a free and fair and honest media. fox news is not conservative...fox news is state sponsored propoganda. if people calling for a "liberal network", something like the opposite of fox, mean they want a media that will slant things toward the "liberal" side (whatever that is) then how would that be any better than the filth we have with fox? it would only be propoganda that we would cheer for....just like the mindless freepers cheer for fox news and the propogandists there.

the media cannot be either conservative or liberal. the media can, and does, have a corporate agenda these days. the news seems to favor republicans and their ideology. that's a bad thing. it would be a bad thing if the shoe were on the other foot too. what we want is honest government of the people, for the people, and by the people. and we want a media that is honest and fair and is always pursuing truth no matter who is in power. we don't have any of that.

and another thing: please stop referring to republicans and their ideology as conservative. there is nothing conservative about them. absolutely nothing. bill clinton was more of a true conservative than any republican these days. the republican party is a front for big business. nothing more. their platform is crafted to get votes. call republicans "right wingers", "corporate socialists", "boot lickers", "human garbage" if you want....but please don't mistakenly identify them as conservative.
