91. You misunderstand
Translation creates a false meaning. Look at what happened when the Bible was translated. It created more interpretations than I can count. That's why Muslims encourage the reading of the Koran in it's original arabic. They don't want its meaning to be lost in translation.

You create a dozen translations of the Star-Spangled Banner and, in my opinion, you will have 12 different songs.

The Star-Spangled Banner (the poem) was written by Francis Scott Key while the British were bombing Fort McHenry in the War of 1812. The language he wrote that poem in was English. So the English version is the only true version of the song.

For example, this spanish version includes the phrase "we are brothers, we are equal." Which is nice. I don't disagree with that. But it isn't in the original version. So it was changed and that can't be argued.
