how can people not know how they feel about what is going on and how they plan to vote. i felt so surprised by the number of people i spoke with who hadn't decided between the republican or democratic candidate for congressional representative. and i was talking to people the organizers of the campaign believed would vote democratic and i was just there to encourage them to be sure to vote.

now, there were people i saw who had already voted or already knew who they would be voting for; it wasn't everyone who was undecided, but the number who were was a surprise to me. and this was not an upscale neighborhood. there were no likely benefactors of the bush regime living in this neighborhood.

the strategy i used in talking with the undecideds, since i had no personal information or sense of these folks other than the house they were living in, was explaining how the lack of balance, with the repubs controlling the executive and both houses of legislative houses of government, blocked any investigation of irregularities without republican approval. this is something that people may not know and i found people did respond to this issue. I would then ask them if they were happy with the current administration or if they felt there were things that needed to be investigated. several people visibly responded to this way of seeing their decision.
