10. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but how else was he supposed to fight against it?
He was a candidate running for Senator giving speeches and speaking in interviews on how we shouldn't be having a war with Iraq. It was an unpopular thing to do at the time, but he had the courage to do it.

I do agree with Edwards position on working for the middle class. He isn't necessarily the only advocate. Obama just recently came out with a tax-cut plan for the middle class, and has always worked hard for the under-priviledged.

The Illinois senator’s plan to “relieve the burden of the middle class” includes four points: 1) an income tax cut of $500 per person (or $1,000 per working family) for 150 million Americans; 2) a universal mortgage interest credit of 10% for homeowners who make under $50,000 a year; 3) the elimination of income tax for retirees making less than $50,000 a year; and 4) simplifying the process of filing a tax return.
