While we are rightfully jumping all over Schumer & DiFi for their repugnant

vote for Mukasey, let us not forget that the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Mr. Leahy, while saying he will oppose this nomination also told us that he was not even going to allow a hearing on any nominee unless he first got all the subpoenaed material.

He didn't get that material, and he scheduled a hearing anyway. This is what happens when Democrats in leadership positions do not keep their word.

Where are the contempt citations that were promised?
Where is the subpoenaed materials?
Why aren't Rove and Miers forced to testify or go to jail?
Why is impeachment off the table?
Why are we continuing to write blank checks for the illegal war in Iraq?
Why did the Congress allow warrantless wiretaps?
Why has habeas corpus not been restored?

The answer to all of those questions is: Our Democratic Leadership has failed to keep their promises to us.

When will we wake up to the fact that our leadership cares more about being in office than about doing the job they were elected to do; namely, protecting and defending the Constitution?

We keep electing the same people, thinking that, perhaps SOMEDAY they will actually do something different. Well, the definition of insanity is doing the same damned thing over and over again, and expecting a different result.

WE NEED NEW LEADERSHIP. We need people who care more about protecting the Constitution than they do about covering each others' asses.
