29. You seem unaware of how papers use official blogs.
Edited on Mon Nov-26-07 03:38 AM by Basileus Basileon
They're not simply clearinghouses of lies, or fact-free zones, or "anything goes" pages. They're where papers put up-to-the-minute reporting on the minutiae of politics, sports, or whatever the subject of the blog is. They often have an informal tone, in an attempt to capture casual readers, but the paper by necessity stands behind it. False information on a paper's official blog will bring the same libel suit that false information in the morning paper's headlines will.

This story probably won't hit the main pages, unless people really start to talk about it. Not because it's a lie, but rather because it's transient in nature, and news about a candidate with 4% of the vote considering selecting another 4%er for VP has an extreme niche audience.
