I'm down to have my taxes spent on it--as long as the tax is progressive and some defense waste is cut to help us pay for it. But if it's something that I have to write a substantial check for every month, I simply can't do it. My work and pay is irregular and keeping up with bills is a constant struggle.

If it's something where part of my regular withholding goes to support a plan where I can just walk into any clinic and get care for a reasonable co-pay, I can get behind it. I would even take a few percent higher taxes if that's what it would take. If it's some individualized account thing where the rates change and there is paperwork and regular billing, I just don't want it. Period. There's enough of that crap in the society we've created.
