8. I still like him.
Sorry, folks, I'm not a McCain hater. I have respect for him -- he denounced the ads. He is an honest man (a very difficult thing for a politician, to be sure), and one bad joke about Chelsea isn't going to make me hate him. They are holding SOMETHING over him because he can't stand Bush. I don't know what is going on, but I know there was an assassination attempt on him during the 2000 campaign that didn't get any publicity, and I believe he is a good man.

We think we "know" people because we see them on television, but the truth is things happen we don't get to "see" because they are behind the scenes. This man has a family; do you think he WANTS to be doing the "team player" thing for a weasel like Bush? We've had several people talk about all the folks in Texas who are scared to death to talk about bad Bush things -- cut McCain a little slack. His life is one thing; his family is another. Pay attention to the look on his face when he's talking. The difference between sincerity and coercion is clear....
