Wikipedia, and possibly Google, have scrubbed Sarah Palin's AIP membership?

When I posted this earlier this morning ("So for all the Obama innuendo, Palin ACTUALLY IS a radical trying to infiltrate our government!" http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=6879295&mesg_id=6879295), I looked up Sarah Palin on Wikipedia to see when she quit the AIP.

Wikipedia said she was on the Wasilla City Council from 1994-1996, and that her party was the Alaskan Independence Party. This was in the right hand column, under "City Council Member, Wasilla, Alaska". It said something to the effect of "1994-1996, Alaskan Independence Party... 1996-1998, Republican Party".

CLEAR. AS. DAY.

That's how I found out when she switched parties to Republican.

That was THIS MORNING.

Then, when I go back to her Wikipedia page this afternoon, I see, in the same spot:
"City Council Member, Wasilla, Alaska... 1992-1996" (I could swear it had 1994-1996 and 1996-1998 in the AM, but I could have mis-read the years, and that's not really relevant anyway). There is now no mention of party, except just below, in the general bio section, where it says "Political party Republican (1982 - Present)".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin

That's all fine and dandy; it's a fluid situation, and I know Wikipedia is adding to her bio by the minute. They apparently have accepted the McCain campaign's line that she has always been Republican. There is now a mention that she has been "close" to the AIP and official records show she has always been a Republican.

But then when I go to the Google cache, I see the SAME information, in the SAME format, with NO mention of the AIP in her party affiliation during her first two years as on the City Council. And the Google cache page says "It is a snapshot of the page as it appeared on Aug 30, 2008 13:33:10 GMT."

But that is simply NOT the case (unless they put AIP in her bio and then removed it in the intervening time, and reverted it to looking exactly as it did on August 30th). I KNOW it was there!!

Her AIP membership has been "scrubbed from the record".

I hate to put it on, but:

ON EDIT after reading replies:
Okay, maybe I jumped the gun and I've taken of the tinfoil hat (which I hardly ever wear!). But I still think the whole thing stinks to high heaven, and I think her "affiliation" with AIP is much closer than she'll ever admit. The fact that her husband was a member until recently says a lot..
