No tomorrow for Republicans

This is weird. I've never seen a campaign before in which a party so fully threw all their credibility away. Openly inciting violence. Flagrantly attempting to suppress the vote. Lying right and left. 100% negative. Politicizing the market crash and offering nothing. Grandstanding the Georgia war. Promoting racism. Robocalls. Plumbers. I know they're desperate, but this is different than other desperate candidates. They are operating as if there is no tomorrow. As if there is not going to be a 2010 or 2012 election, or any after that. They are just doing anything they possibly can to try to win this one, no matter how much it will wreck their party - or the country - if they don't.

Do others see it this way?

Why are they doing this?

Theory 1) They'll get tried and jailed if they lose, so they're like cornered rats.

Theory 2) They just figure the party's going to be out of power for 30 years anyway, and by that time, anyone involved in today's races will be long gone from the scene, so they just don't care.

Theory 3) I'm over-reacting. This is just a typical tough campaign.
