Why next week will be a GOOD week for us... and some ideas for beyond

Kicks off with Colin Powell endorsing Obama on MTP (it WILL happen)

That wins a news cycle

Then... campaign announces a $100+ million take for September

That wins a news cycle

Then... here's what I do next:

1. Move the campaign back out into the stadiums. Forget the "celebrity" crap - it didn't work before, it won't work now. Get the 50,000+ crowds, especially in college towns in swing states:

Columbus, Ohio (Ohio St)
State College, PA (Penn St)
Morgantown, WV (WVU)
Blacksburg, VA (VT)
Chapel Hill, NC (UNC... get Coach Dean Smith to speak)
Tallahassee, FL (FSU)
Jacksonville, FL
Indianapolis, IN
Las Vegas, NV

Build the momentum up with huge crowds, similar to the acceptance speech in Denver.

Do this all the way up through the last week of the campaign.

2. Show up at big sporting events.... an NFL game in Pittsburgh (Dan Rooney is a big Obama supporter) would be a good one. See if you can get 10 minutes in the booth during the game being "interviewed" by the announcers - and showing Obama's "regular guy" sports knowledge. Get yourself into a World Series game announcing booth for a few minutes. In Philly, they'll cheer for you as much or more than they booed Palin. If Tampa makes the series, that's even better... show up at a WS game there. See if you can get them to let you lead the singing of Take Me Out to the Ballgame.

3. Give a 1-hour Larry King interview with both Barack and Michelle. It will be a softball interview (all LK's are) and the chemistry between husband and wife will shine through. Even take a few calls that get past Larry's screeners.

4. Fly home to Chicago on October 31st and either take the kids trick-or-treating or stand on the porch and give out candy. Make sure cameras capture this.
