I'd say he could have picked any republican from congress almost. He could have picked the repub "celebrity" ones as well. Like Rudy Giuliani. You're right it wouldn't have played well with the far right wing nut jobs, but who the hell were they going to vote for anyway?

I mean palin is an unknown WAY out of left field. It really makes no sense. For you to try to present it like she "was the only one" he could have picked is incredible to me. She brings NOTHING to the table, and honestly scares the hell out of a lot of people who aren't in the far right wing nut job region.
