6. Golden opportunity, with a side order of golden fleece
We Dems have two wonderful things to look forward to with this nomination.

The first thing is that Ms. Miers has been at the very center of virtually every scandal which has washed over the Bush Administration. Democrats will have an opportunity to do something they've never had the chance to do before: give the nominee enough rope to hang her own self by making her perjur herself before the Senate--which in turn will be grounds for impeachment down the line. Plus, it will be great entertainment to watch the parade of scandal: the Energy Task Force, the President's meetings with Jack Abramoff, the outing of Valerie Plame, the games played with the President's AWOL records, yadda yadda yadda.

You people are here because you effin' A know by now that this is the most criminal Presidency, ever. Well, now's your chance to watch all that dirty laundry get aired out before our less informed countryfolk. It's going to be comedy gold watching cow-eyed Freepers asking their more evil mentors, "what's up with that Boeing thing?" and "how come nobody told us Mohammed Atta was on Jack Abramoff's boat?"

The other wonderful thing is this. Consider what the President has said about this fine nominee:

" ... I've sought to find an American of grace, judgment and unwavering devotion to the Constitution and laws of our country. Harriet Miers is just such a person," Bush said at the White House. "I know her heart; I know her character."

Now I ask you, my beloved fellow Democrats: when is the last time the President ever told the truth about anything or anyone? Hahahaaha! The answer is NEVER! The guy wouldn't know the truth if he coughed it up into his oatmeal. If that's what the President says she is, we know that's exactly what she isn't.

Now our conservative friends are going to learn that--the hard way. And they are going to be very, very upset to learn that this nominee has no grace, no judgment, and no devotion to the Constitution whatsoever.

I myself plan to be magnanimous about it. I'm going to summon up my best Arkansas accent and say scratchily to heartbroken conservatives, "Ah feel yer pain."

Over, and over, and over again.
