29. No. It was simply a careless thing to do. He obviously didn't go over it &
say to himself while practicing in front of the mirror, "John, is there any way that the idiots of this country can make it look like I'm bashing the military?" Before he spouts out anything, he should be thinking about any implications of jokes that concern the war or the military. I know what he meant, but he was a fool for not being aware of all possible perceptions. It was a rookie mistake made by a veteran politician at a crucial time.
