42. UPDATE: The youngest daughter arrived at our door about an hour ago.
She brought us an Obama yard sign. She was all atwitter. She'd just come back from walking precincts all over Santa Monica - ringing doorbells and talking to people about Obama. Wanted to know if we'd like the sign. Uh - WOULD we?!?!?!?!? My husband and I both walked out with her and she helped us plant it. And I told her how cute her mom was a few hours earlier. She was concerned that maybe they should take the sign down before the sprinklers ran in the yard, because she didn't want it to get ruined.
I tell ya - I'm FLOORED. FUCKING FLOORED. BTW - I heard from my daughter a little later and told her the "guess what happened in the ol' neighborhood today?" and she already knew. And she was very excited!
As I said - I. Am. Completely. FLOORED. Absolutely GOBSMACKED.
