17. I can't believe some of you are still copping an attitude about this.
Look, believe it or don't, but save the eye-rolling. You all are the ones who said there was nothing to this, and you were wrong. I simply believe we have only half the story. And what's so hard to believe about this anyway? People used to do this ALL the time.

It's only hard to believe that anyone would still do it today. But, does the fact that it's a right-wing fundie governor with a political career to protect make it any easier to believe? These people are living in the 50s.

It's only hard to believe that a presidential candidate could be so incompetent as to select a running mate with this possibility hanging over her head. But we know McCain's judgment really is that poor and that Palin was NOT vetted with any thoroughness at all.

It's only hard to believe that Republicans are in such a desperate position that they would actually WANT the public to believe that Palin told a bald-faced lie about the details of the birth of her special needs infant in order to gain favorable publicity. That they would WANT the public to believe that the 17-year-old daughter of their VP running mate is 5 months pregnant. But, yes, they really are in such a desperate position that this fairy tale is more acceptable to them than the truth. I'm BEGGING you; can we please not let them get away with this?

And is this story any harder to believe than that our supposed president would sit there listening to a goat story after being informed that terrorists attacked America? Is it any harder to believe than the Supreme Court installing their preferred candidate to begin with? Is it any harder to believe than Republicans attacking the patriotism of a decorated war hero senator and another senator who lost three limbs in battle... and being successful at it? I could go on and on. Everything about these people is unbelievable. They're freaks.

We are so close to having the WHOLE truth come out. This is not going to hurt our side. In fact, I think it's going to hurt our side MORE if we drop it now with only half the truth hanging there. Then the Republicans get to paint us as bullies who forced Palin to expose her 17-year-old daughter's pregnancy. They make it about Bristol instead of Palin and McCain. And they get to pretend that McCain knew all along and isn't phenomonally incompetent but compassionate, open-minded, and a "maverick."

So much has still not been explained. The waiting 24 hours or so after her water broke to seek medical care. The fact that Palin seemed to go from flat-stomached at 6 months to very big-bellied a month or two later. Palin's school absence which has lasted much longer than her supposed pregnancy. Are they still going to claim she's had mono and been too sick to go to school for all that time but not too sick to get knocked up?

And what's with them saying they had to reveal Bristol's current "supposed" pregnancy in order to dispel rumors by "liberal bloggers?" Does that mean they would have kept it a secret? Do they honestly think they could have? McCain claims he knew. Does that mean he was planning to go along with hiding it from the American people? If they cared so much about Bristol's privacy, why even have Palin be the running mate?

Besides, all politics aside, I'd like to see the truth come out for the sake of Bristol and Trig. This is not a healthy situation for either of them. We can assume Bristol was given no choice in whether or not she would have this baby. Who knows whether she had any choice in pretending her mother gave birth to Trig. She's already had her privacy sacrificed - by them, not by us. Let's at least try to help her have some normalcy and not have to live a lie.
