The convention week may be a net loss for McCain, but Palin has some charisma. She had an 80% approval rating in Alaska. Remember that most voters are either complete morons or else just not very observant. If McCain can put her in the right situations, she can gain some points with the voters.

Nothing that is on the table today is enough to dump her because there is zero chance of winning after dumping her and McCain still has a very good shot at winning with her (despite her).
