Ya think the repukes wouldn't lambaste him later for playing Chicken Little? That's a far more probable scenario than yours is.

Napolitano herself declared the briefing standard operating procedure. You think the president should have contradicted her with his presence?

My advice: Leave the politicking to those who are far more adept at it. Oh, and stop obsessing about events that may not occur.
