9. The arab population in metro Detroit is religiously diverse....
But the muslims tend to live in Dearborn, the Chaldeans in northwest Detroit/Oakland County and the Eastern Orthodox live all over.

Chaldeans will likely vote for Bush. They are christians and from Iraq.

Eastern Orthodox arabs are from Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey. They will not likely form one voting block. There is a lot of diversity in that grouping-many work as doctors, social workers, businessmen, etc.

Muslims did vote for Bush in 2000. Dearborn has a GOP Mayor, an american of italian descent. An arab ran against him, and the arab vote went overwhelmingly in the Guido's (I think that's his name) favor. Spencer Abraham campaigned for Bush here, as he was still a Senator at that time. He doesn't have the same sway anymore with arab voters, now that he's energy secretary. On top of that, Ann Coulter got her start working for him, all an arab american has to do is read one of her columns to know that she is not their friend, but is a friend of the GOP.
