22. "Pastor" Anderson needs to revisit the New Testament
I John 3:15 is a verse he might find of interest: "Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him." John goes on to say in verses 16 and 17 "...We ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?" (New International Version)

I seem to recall Jesus had quite a bit to say about love as well, but guess for the good "pastor" and other so-called "Christians", it's so much more fulfilling to rail against gays and a Black president.

I stepped away from the evangelical/fundamental/Bible-thumping churches I'd been affiliated with for most of my life a few years back, just could not take any more of the anti-gay pro-Bush righteous-war rhetoric. Now I'm pretty much okay with there not even being a God. Just could not figure out why an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent being would not step in and do something proactive to set his "followers" straight. No longer waiting for that to happen, since I now realize it can't, but doesn't stop me from being thoroughly disgusted with "pastor" Anderson and his ilk. They don't have the ability to be ashamed of what they're doing, and much as I wish they'd be called into account on judgment day, I know they won't. Just have to hope their inflammatory rhetoric does not result in some horrible and heartbreaking outcome.
