If Obama and the Democrats weasel out of real reform with a robust public option into which any of us can buy, then count me out of canvassing; count me out of monetary contributions; count me out of phone banking; count me out of holding house parties; and count me out on election day.

Obama had the opportunity to control the discussion and to let single payer at the table. He blew it.

This was not the change I worked for and this was not the change I voted for.

This time the Democrats will see the effects of taking their base for granted.

Perhaps it will take another four years of a Republican presidency and Republican dominated Senate and House for the American people to take to the streets. Obama sure hasn't done anything to rally us on this issue and he has sold us out on education, the wars, and the equal rights of our gay sisters and brothers.

Count me out....at your peril!
