4. Hard to say. I have a brother who's 10 years older than I; major Freeper
I am sad to say. We are from different biological families (both adopted, different bio parents) but raised, natch, by the same adoptive parents.
With us I think the age gap played a role; he was a teen off doing his own thing during the years (early 60s to early 70s) when I was little, and my parents were taking me to civil rights marches, and sit-ins, and occupying buildings, and peace marches, etc etc etc. And he was not around for that. My dad worked at a small church college, and we had many people from other countries/cultures in our home on a regular basis. I was little; I was captive! He was older and more independent, and absent. So I was exposed to more events and people and languages and viewpoints and voices, and I think it made a huge difference.
I love my brother, but I really really hate his politics and it's hard to spend much time around him.
Money, money, money. That's all he seems to give a shit about. I know he loves his wife and his family and all, but the only thing I really hear him talk about is money, and bitch about how high his taxes are.
*sigh* Wish he'd learn to appreciate what he has LEFT....he pays more in taxes than most people make in a year, and to him, that's a very bad thing.
