3. When I decided I would relocate
from OP, I considered a lot of different places, but finally decided that I wanted most of all to live somewhere that I did not need to have air-conditioning. It's why I didn't move back to the DC area, where I have family and friends, and why I didn't go to Albuquerque, even though it's supposedly a lot cheaper to live in. Too many people for my taste, just like any other large city in the Southwest. I've lived in Phoenix, I've lived in Tucson, and you couldn't pay me to go back to either.

It does help a great deal that I have 12 foot high ceilings in the main room, and only one west-facing window, and that window actually faces southwest, so I do not get the full brunt of the afternoon sun. Plus, it REALLY does cool off here at night. According to a fast weather check, the high today was 91, right now it's about 71, and the overnight low will be 51. In the early afternoon I do close the one bedroom window that faces south and has a lot of concrete right outside, to keep that room cool, but then I re-open that window at night and leave it open all night long.

You should at least pay a visit here.
