2. Update (friends of mine) on Beth and Liz, both excellently great people
Beth got bailed out, Liz spent the night in jail. Here is a letter from her to me when I wrote and asked how court went.

Yes, I was in court yesterday and today.
I was released without bail, on my own recognizance, but I can't talk to Bethel and I can't go within 500 feet of Indian Island. They wanted to limit my travel to western Washington, but I asked that that be dropped because I am going to California to see Dan's dad - who just got rediagnosed with cancer and is not doing well. The judge agreed to drop the travel limitation. My attorney was not in court - we thought I would just be released and given a court date in the future. Now he will file motions to remove the conditions - which are usually only used if someone is a danger to the community.

Today I was in court in Tacoma for the Port protests last month. We are still pretty sure the charge will be dropped - I was arrested for having a backpack in a "no backpack zone". There is no law against having a backpack, and I am surprised they did not drop charges already. The judge looked skeptical, but the police haven't filed our arrest reports yet with the court.

I am planning on not getting arrested again until all three cases are cleared up. Spending the weekend in jail was tiring - especially because they don't serve coffee, and I got a migraine. But it wasn't all that bad. I was afraid of jail, and now I know I can survive.

Thanks for writing. It is good to know I have support and concern.
Peace,
Liz
