With all of the "little glitches" that have cropped up here, there and everywhere, someone is going to have to provide compelling evidence that Bush did indeed have more people show up at the polls with the intention to vote for him. Statistically it is enormously unlikely. His "win" simply counters too many predictable patterns to be credible. Now whether it was an orchestrated manipulation, innocent glitches or some combination of a variety of factors is anyone's guess.
I have to disagree with you with respect to futility as well. If the spotlight is bright enough and brings no evidence of irregularity to the surface than perhaps some day I'll have confidence that my vote is being counted properly. I'd say it's worth the effort.
