just to get to the front of the line for a provisional ballot, and then to be told, sorry, you cannot cast that ballot. Either you have to get back on the 4-hour line to cast it or try voting at the County board office downtown, where you may have to wait another 4 hours. You insist on voting here? Well let me dial 911 and we'll see about that.
Hundreds of people waiting in line in the rain, long lines backing out of the building, across the street, and into the dark rainy woods. Unconscionable in this so-called democracy.
Old people, people with disabilities, working people with children who don't have the luxury of waiting 4 hours on lines. People who step outside for fresh air and aren't allowed back in to vote. People who shown up from some other place where they waited hours only to be told they could not vote. Time and time again. People denied the right to vote without their registration ID, a violation of Ohio Voting Bill of Rights. Much confusion as to precincts. But you don't necessarily know what your precinct is until you get to the front of the line you've been waiting in 4 hours because there's nobody allowed to work the lines to tell you you're in the wrong place. You belong in the precinct across the street. Oh! Look at the lines over there!! Wonder how many more hours that's going to be.
And to top it all off, when people insist on casting their voting at the precinct they are in, the precinct calls the cops on them!
From these videos, apparently only the strong or the leisure class were allowed to vote in Ohio.
As if the computer shift of votes into the Bush category wasn't good enough. As if they wanted to make sure they touched all bases of voter suppression, pull out all the stops. All of those responsible for this unbelievable massive voter manipulation and supression, from Blackwell on down, need to be arrested with no bond and tried with no leniency.
These are huge crimes against people who have little power to begin with. If Kerry does not speak out loudly about this and demand prosecution of all those responsible, rather than trying to shift this over to people like Jesse Jackson, he ought to be ashamed of calling himself a Democrat.
