It is difficult to not be so enraged with the republican party, more specifically, those who control the republican party, that intelligent discussion sometimes becomes impossible. But isn't it part of our liberal beings to see more in common with others than differences? Someone very close to me is pretty conservative, and I was able to appeal to him mostly because of how the war has been handled. He had served seven years active duty and is a strategical thinker. We talked at length about military strategy, and how if you do go to war how it should be conducted. B*sh clearly placed the well-being of Haliburtin above the well-being of our troops and the people of Iraq. This same conservative thinker took very little convincing about the validity of the election...and this is saying something because some of our ongoing arguments have been ongoing for a few years now. Randi Rhodes has spoken on the topic of how we really are not that dissimular...this has been a lifelong belief of mine. The difficulty often seems to be to get past the myth of moral superiority perpetuated by the propaganda machine of the right. Peace. Zola
